Although the state is currently suffering from serious air pollution problems, Texans need not despair. In fact, renewable energy offers many reasons to be excited about the future of Texas' energy industry. The wind, solar, and biomass resources available in Texas are greater than those in any other state, and offer the potential to meet our state's electricity demands 10 times over! Renewable energy is clean, efficient, reliable, and non-depletable, and the development of these resources would not only bring us cleaner air but jobs and economic benefits as well.

• Buy renewable energy! Every electric provider in Texas is required to offer renewable energy to their customers (except municipal and cooperative utilities). Ask them about their green energy programs.
